Staff of the Week
This page is dedicated to the staff members at ICSU. We will be interviewing one staff member each week and asking them about their life inside and outside of the campus. This will provide a great opportunity for both students and parents to get to know the faculty who serve God's purposes at our school.
This week we are featuring Mr. Krahn.

Mr. Shane Krahn
Mr. Krahn, our favourite (and only) Canadian teacher was interviewed recently by Christian. The first question asked by Christian was, “What does Canada do better than America?” Although he didn’t want to say anything bad about America, Mr. Krahn did say that Canada is the best at ice hockey, and usually wins the gold medal in the Olympics. Next, Christian asked what were the best things about Canada. Mr. Krahn answered with: being with his family, going to concerts, having snow, watching sports at a normal time, going to hockey games, and eating poutine. Christian spontaneously asked, “What’s the best thing about Korea?” Mr. Krahn said that freedom is the best, as he lived in China previously.
When asked if he liked Korea or Canada more, Mr. Krahn chose Canada since it is his home, and he has lived in Korea for only three months. After that, Christian asked, “If a student was stressing about any of your classes, what would you tell them?” Mr. Krahn said that you should talk with him since he might give you more time for if you are already under stress and deadlines. When asked the question, “How do you keep your amazing beard?” Mr. Krahn gave the rudimentary response, “Genetics.”
The next question asked by Christian was what Mr. Krahn’s three favourite games are, and he answered with Super Mario Brothers 3, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Burnout 3. When asked what Mr. Krahn would like for a birthday wish/present, he said that he would wish for the hockey season to start 1 month earlier, and he would go back to Canada to watch the game with his family. The last question, “What is your favourite Bible Verse?” was answered by Mr. Krahn with Matthew 6:25-34, which describes that you should not worry since God will provide; in grade 7, Mr. Krahn missed 2 months of school because he had anxiety.
